What is a Gel Candle?

Bright, beautiful, and calming, a gel candle can light up a room like no other type of candle. However, most people still have no idea what a gel candle is, how it’s made or why it’s a perfect choice as a gift for a loved one or as an addition to your own home.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about gel candles.

What are gel candles exactly?

Gel Candles are transparent candles hand-made with a blend of 95% mineral oil and 5% powdered polymer resin. The polymer resin is needed to create the candle’s unique gel consistency, which is also why they last so much longer than regular candles. With each gel candle, you light, you can expect between 95 to 100 hours of burn time! That’s a big difference from traditional wax candles as they tend to burn through much quicker, resulting in households needing to buy them more frequently.

What’s unique about gel candles?

Since gel candles are transparent, they create a different glow than other candles as the flame lights up the entire jar, not just the tip. Furthermore, unlike most wax candles, our gel versions burn clean with zero soot. That means no smoke or toxins enter the air, resulting in a cleaner, more eco-friendly experience. Beyond that, gel candles are colorful, creating an effortless centerpiece in every room. Since the gel of the candle is poured on top of beautiful stones and other decorative items, they can light up every table, night stand or shelf they’re placed on.

Are gel candles scented?

Yes, our gel candles are infused with natural fragrance oils that release the captivating scents of each candle theme we’re specially created for you. For a sweet yet soothing scent, we recommend our Ghana Luxury candle. For something fresher, our Uganda blend is the perfect addition to any room.

Are gel candles safe?

100%. We recommend you don’t burn our Gel candles for longer than 5 hours at a time, but this is simply to avoid heat build-up. You get the most out of each purchase when you light your candle for shorter periods. Nonetheless, every candle poses a fire risk since it needs an exposed flame to work. Hence, we do not recommend you leave your candles unattended. Instead, sit back, relax and enjoy the flame flickering in the corner. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than that!
